I sure do loves me with some food trucks! I have been obsessed with them since I believe 2008 when I somehow became fascinated with the Kogi Korean BBQ truck in Los Angeles. Now, not *only* does the City of Boston have its own food trucks, but lookee what “other” LA out-of-towners rolled in this weekend…
When my Twitter feed literally exploded with news of the two finalists of the Great Food Truck Race Season 3 being in Boston this weekend to do final battle, I immediately set about as to when I could meet either one or both trucks. As luck would have it, Seoul Sausage was parked off of Boston’s famed Newbury Street & would be there until 9 o’clock in the evening…puuuuurfect :)
Admittedly, it was a long wait when I arrived, but no one complained in the slow moving line. I always expect lines at food trucks, but then coupled with the chance of the camera crew filming while you were in line…makings of more of a shitshow right there. Things got even more exciting when the Roxy’s Grilled Cheese food truck dudes came by to
razz show their support for the Seoul Sausage guys & do a little filming as well. Season 2 contestants demonstrating mad love for Season 3…how nice ^_^
So, what the heck did I eat? I tried the Flaming Fried Ball (courtesy of James from Roxy’s who was gracious enough to give to MDH & I while we were
starving waiting in line), the Korean Tatas (cheesy tater tots) & the KPop Star…a Cherry Coke float with a sprinkling of Pop Rocks! Refreshing! All in all, it was a very fun & tasty evening! If you know me in real life, you know that food trucks are kinda my thing, so why wouldn’t I come out to support a food truck aaaaaall the way from LA? Kinda sad I didn’t make it over to Nona’s Kitchenette, the other race finalist, but good luck to both contestants, can’t wait to watch when Season 3 starts & may the best truck reign supreme!
